BIO

Hello and welcome to my page! My name is Michael Coppola and I’m a Meisner Trained actor living in New York with almost 15 years of performing experience. In my career, I’ve performed off-broadway, on TV, and in a multitude of independent films.

While I have spent many years on stage, at this point I’m more focused on the film and TV world. The roles that I typically gravitate towards are ones where my character is doing the best he can to survive in a dark world, and usually helping protect those close to him, while sometimes also a hiding a dark secret (Think: The Walking Dead Universe, Marvel Universe, The Last of Us, etc). I love the inner conflict involved in diving into the psyche of characters who present one face to the world, while desperately hiding another side of themselves at all costs. I also have the tall, muscular, frame of a Viking, and a formidable presence – perfect for embodying both viciously intimidating characters, and fiercely protective characters, alike.

In my day to day life, I live just outside the City in Long Beach, NY, with my beautiful wife Rachel (also a very talented actor) and our 12 year old dog Izzy (should be an actor, but can’t sit still). One thing I’ve always been very passionate about is learning new things. As a teen, I learned what the phrase “Renaissance Man” meant, and I instantly knew that was what I wanted to be. I set out to learn and experience as much as I could, constantly trying to grow and develop new skills as a human being. Whether it be learning both the ukulele and guitar, developing my chess game, playing and watching sports, writing stories and poems, cooking new recipes, exploring new places, I am constantly trying to expand my own horizons. That is one of the things that first drew me to acting as well. As a child when I was asked what I want to be when I grow up, I could never answer because I wanted to be everything! So many professions sounded interesting to me – now as an actor, I have the ability to dive into all those different lives for a period of time. It really is the best career, because I get to dabble in all careers!

Anyway, that is a little about me, but what I really love is meeting new people, so if you’d like to connect please take a second to drop a note into my contact page and tell me a little about yourself! I’ll be sure to respond.

Thanks for stopping by!
